Don's running career:

Running occurred in the early days, now race walking (both knees replaced).

My running career began 52 years ago in 1967. I am unsure on the exact number of Halfs I have completed but I do know that I ran 139 full marathons. My half PR is 1:07:14 set in 1979 and my full PR is 2:17:43 set in 1980. This year will be my 31st Parkersburg News and Sentinel Half Marathon, I've only missed the first two years.

Don's Motivation:

I just love Parkersburg and half is not as punishing as 26.2 but a true test.

Advice from Don:

Race several shorter distances,5K to 10K. Record what works (meal timing, taper, work-out leading to race, etc) and what you can improve upon.
