Course Connections - MILE 11: The course passes by the longest set of steps found anywhere in the region, the Quincy Hill stairs are frequently used by area runners to train. In 19O9 a water tank the top of the hill ruptured, killing three and washing several homes on Avery from their foundations. Racers in the half marathon can look forward to water of their own. The next water stop is located at the 7-11 at the end of the street. The water stop is unique because the two-mile race passes it going one direction and is quickly followed by the half marathon going the other.
