Course Connections MILES 9-10: The News and Sentinel Half Marathon runs parallel to, and eventual crosses under U.S. 50. A massive rebuilding of the highway through Parkersburg took several years and concluded with the opening of the $120 million Blennerhassesett Island Bridge in 2008. The road project took several years to complete and affected several half marathons.
