Course Connections - MILE 2.2: As racers make their way towards U.S. 50 at the start of the third mile of the News and Sentinel Half Marathon they have a great view to the right of the Ohio River and Blennerhassett Island. Aaron Burr and Harman Blennerhassett were accused of conspiring on the island in 1805 to overthrow the government; today it's a popular tourist destination that offers tours of a restored mansion. A lot of artifacts from the era can be founded at the Blennerhassett Museum which is located near the starting line.
