Course Connections - MILE 1: When you turn left on to Garfield you will be nearly done with the first mile. The lead runners cover the first mile in around five minutes, the rest of the field will take a while longer. The mile maker is slightly past the Subway on your right. Garfield and Murdock both connect to form Grand Central Avenue farther to the north. Grand Central is one of the busiest streets in W.Va. Traffic on both streets is halted during the race
