FAQ's — Answers to the most frequently asked race questions

August 17, 2010
Art Smith, Logistical Director

As the races draw near the number of questions from runners and walkers increase. Here are answers to questions we hear most.

Can I still register?
Registration is open at the Parkersburg Municpal Building from 2 until 9 Friday for all races.

When does the race start? The Half Marathon starts at 8 a.m. at Third and Juliana Streets. Look for all the people. The two-mile starts at 8:10. Don't be late or the race will start without you. Because of roads closures you want to allow plenty of time.

Where does the race end?
It ends at 6th and Market Streets.

Where will I pick up my timing chip?
This year it is a disposable chip and will be given out with your running number.

Where can I park?
There will be a number of groups selling spots, you can also park at the newspaper parking lot at 519 Juliana Street. You may have to park a few blocks from the start.

Am I registered?
You can check the list available on the Web site, if you only recently sent in your registration you may not be on the list yet.

Where can I pick up my packet?
You can pick it up at the Parkersburg Municpal Building from 2 until 9 Friday as well as before the race on Saturday. There will also be people available to answer any questions that you may have about the race.

This is my first time doing the half, is there a tour available?
Yes a tour, with veteran runner Sharon Marks, will leave from the Municpal Building at 6 p.m. Friday.

If I need help, who should I asked? Ask any of the more than 1,000 race volunteers. They are easy to spot, they will all be wearing bright yellow shirts with racers on the front.
