Beat the Summer Heat

July 9, 2018 - Kayla Schradel
Hello runners,

We are getting into the dog days of summer which means it is important to beat the heat while training for the News and Sentinel half marathon. Here are a few tips to help you stay cool.

1.Be sure that you are drinking plenty of H2O.

2.Wear light colored, loose fitting clothing for your runs.

3.Wearing sunscreen can actually reduce your body temperature and protect you from the sun.

4.Running near a water source like a river, ocean, or lake can be cooler and give off a refreshing breeze.

Keep an eye out for more blogs like these! If you have any questions about the race email me at halfmarathon@newsandsentinel.com.

The countdown is on for this years Parkersburg News and Sentinel half marathon and 2-mile race. Register to be a part of the action on August 18 at www.newsandsentinelhalfmarathon.com.
